Gloria Morgan, former Chief of the Spallumcheen (Splats’in) Indian Band, was born in Enderby, BC. She attended public school in Armstrong, Enderby, and Vernon, and residential school in Cranbrook. From the age of 12, she worked as a fruit picker in orchards, a playschool assistant, a waitress, an RCMP officer, and a lawyer, and served as Chief for four years. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of British Columbia in 1994 and was called to the Bar in 1995. She is currently retiring from her law practice.
Gloria continues to serve on several Boards including Interior Patient Care Quality Review Board, Okanagan College Board of Governors, Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation Board, Enderby & District Curling Club Executive, and is the Aboriginal Liaison for the 2017 BC 55+ Games. Gloria is an avid golfer and curler.
