We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and communities of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Nation and acknowledge the tragic loss of the 215 children that have been found on the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. This is a horrific reminder of the atrocities committed at the residential schools and the harm they have had on generations of Indigenous Peoples.

As we continue on our journey of reconciliation, we know we have much to learn on the devastating impact of residential schools. This is a time to honour and reflect on the lives of these children, and many of our team members are wearing orange shirts this week as a way to do so and raise awareness of the ongoing trauma caused by residential schools.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to addressing Indigenous-specific racism and will continue to support and take action on this critical issue.
