Charmaine Niebergall

she/her

Engagement Leader, Patient & Public Engagement

Charmaine joined Health Quality BC in May 2021 as an Engagement Leader on the Patient & Public Engagement Team, bringing with her a passion for community engagement and volunteer administration.

Prior to joining the team, she led program development for 7 years at Island Health with Volunteer Resources and supported the rollout of the historic COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics. In 2019, Charmaine completed a Master’s in Community Development from the University of Victoria where she leaned into a passion for space sciences and completed a project to engage youth with local science organizations. She also completed her Certification in Volunteer Administration in 2020. She is a life-long volunteer herself, including having been a lead organizer with the TEDxVictoria events, and is a current volunteer with a local observatory. Charmaine is passionate about her journey with cultural humility and has completed several San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety training programs.

On her down time, Charmaine picks up a local Modo carshare co-operative car to go for weekend drives (she’s also a Modo Ambassador!), goes for runs, hits up a boxing class, or cheers loudly at lots of local live arts & entertainment events.
