Edward joined the Council in October 2019 as a leader with the Learning & Capability Development team. Prior to joining the Council, Edward worked in Australia as a quality manager and a simulation educator. While working as a quality manager he honed his skills in both incident management as well as quality improvement. As a simulation educator, Edward developed a passion for creating environments where people could grow.
Edward is enthusiastic about creating a system in which people can succeed and enjoys working with others in a shared vision of excellence in health care. Before delving into the world of patient safety and quality, he worked clinically as a nurse specialist in critical care at one of Australia’s leading transplant centres.
Edward holds a Bachelor in Nursing from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing (Intensive Care) from the Australian Catholic University. Edward has also lectured at the University of Sydney on the topic of extracorporeal life support (ECLS).
When not at work Edward likes to learn new skills/hobbies and hopes living in Canada will improve his skiing ability.
