Jamie Duteil

she/her

Director, Health System Improvement

Jamie joined HQBC in September 2022. She is a Director of Health System Improvement and currently has the privilege of supporting quality initiatives within the Primary and Community Care sector.

Jamie brings an extensive background as a Registered Nurse, having worked in multiple disciplines including pediatrics, palliative care, medical, surgical, emergency department, intensive care, the coronary care unit and the cardiac surgery ICU at Kelowna General Hospital. Most recently, she led teams as manager of clinical operations with Interior Health supporting the Urgent and Primary Care Centres in Kelowna and West Kelowna. Her superpower is collaborative leadership – she is passionate about bringing people together, enabling them to connect, collaborate and build trusting relationships across multiple professions and organizations.

Within her current role at HQBC, Jamie co-chairs the provincial Team-Based Care Advisory Committee, supporting the shared goals of advancing and accelerating the transition to quality, team-based care with patients and providers as equal partners. Given her clinical and non-clinical expertise and personal understanding of the system, Jamie is well positioned to provide her knowledge in helping advance this primary care strategy within BC.

Outside of work, you’ll find Jamie enjoying time with her family, which includes her husband, four daughters and dog named Arlow. In winter, she will be either playing hockey, coaching one of her kids’ minor hockey teams, or on the local ski hill looking for fresh snow. In the summer months, she’ll be enjoying family and friends’ company while camping, golfing, paddleboarding or just soaking up the Okanagan sun!
