Jennie joined the Council in 2016 as a Quality Leader supporting clinical improvement initiatives. Prior to joining the Council, she worked in a range of quality improvement positions with Island Health.
Jennie’s passion is to accelerate improvements in patient safety culture by supporting teams to develop environments that invite open discussion and learning from safety events. As part of this, she was the strategic and operational lead for the Island Health patient safety event reporting. Jennie has also supported improvement initiatives ranging from facilitating safety-focused reporting by patients and families to Quality Month, an annual Island Health awareness and education campaign.
Jennie holds a Master of Arts in History from Queen’s University and a Masters of Arts in Dispute Resolution from the University of Victoria. She is a graduate of BCPQSC’s Quality Academy and has completed extensive training in facilitation, mediation and public engagement. If she’s not talking Quality Improvement, you can usually find her in playing on her mountain bike!
