Project Coordinator, Patient & Public Engagement
Leslie graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Commerce. Leslie previously worked as a research assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI) and then a global pharmaceutical company – Sanofi Pasteur Limited. Prior to joining the Council, Leslie worked at a non-profile organization in Chilliwack as the Summer Camp Program Director.
Leslie joined the Council in October 2019, starting as a Program Assistant supporting the Learning and Capability Development initiatives. She then joined the Patient and Public Engagement Team in January 2021 and moved into the Project Coordinator role in October 2021. Leslie continues to develop her skills and knowledge on patient engagement and project coordination as she supports the different quality improvement initiatives in health care across British Columbia. Leslie is highly enthusiastic about quality improvement and system leadership. Her interest lies in project management, evaluation, and finding ways to improves processes and system through effective use of technological tools and software.
Outside of work, you can likely find her out exploring the local mountains through hiking or backpacking, snuggled up at home baking or reading with a hot beverage, volunteering in her community, or spending time with friends and family. Leslie is grateful to work, live, and play on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
