Valerie Ehasoo

Fellow

Victoria, BC

Valerie joined the Council in September 2022 through our Clinician Fellowship in Health Care Quality program.

Valerie is a family doctor in Victoria.  After completing a residency at Queen’s University in Ontario, Valerie spent a year doing emergency medicine in New Zealand.  Returning to Canada, she worked in rural and remote communities across the country and spent significant time in Sioux Lookout First Nations communities and in Nunavut. Valerie currently works in multiple practice settings including Victoria Youth Clinic, Victoria Memory Clinic and the senior’s outreach team with Geriatric Specialty Services. Her interests are in working with vulnerable populations with a strong emphasis on mental health and substance use, as well as a focus on social determinants of health including adverse childhood experiences.

Valerie is excited to be joining our team as she believes very strongly in looking at the big picture and working together from a province-wide and public health perspective to help resolve our current mental health and substance use crisis.
