
This workshop is hosted by Action on Sepsis, a newly established Research Excellence Cluster at UBC. Action on Sepsis is a trans-disciplinary group tackling the complex issue of sepsis prevention, diagnosis and management across the human lifespan.
The Action on Sepsis Workshop will focus on:
- prioritizing research questions and identifying high impact research projects and collaborations,
- potential funding opportunities,
- and addressing barriers in sepsis research.
The workshop aims to bring together researchers, stakeholders, patients and other experts to collaborate in the field of sepsis. People who were patients, families, caregivers, or others with lived experience of sepsis are encouraged to attend and help define and direct research priorities that are important to them.
The workshop will a variety of researchers and clinicians from UBC, VGH, BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital, as well as key member of the global sepsis community, such as Niranjan “Tex” Kissoon, the Vice Chair of the Global Sepsis Alliance and Vice President of Medical Affairs at BC Children Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children.
