Identifying and understanding variation in data is critical to your quality improvement efforts. This second session in our two-part series will introduce you to foundational concepts regarding variation and quality improvement. Participants will learn the importance of showing data over time and will be able to use a run chart to interpret signals of change.

Doug Campbell, Health Quality Council (Saskatchewan)
As a Provincial Improvement Consultant, Doug works in the area of Health System Planning and Reporting, and is the measurement lead for the Emergency Department Waits and Patient Flow Initiative, while also supporting other areas, such as the Clinical Quality Improvement Program. His background is in Biomedical Engineering and he is a graduate of the Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery Improvement from Intermountain Healthcare.
