This is the fourth installment of Team Up! Team-Based Primary & Community Care in Action that aims to connect individuals and teams, identify tools to apply to current work underway and share experiences in team-based care across the province. In this webinar there will be multiple cycles of plan-do-study-act (PDSA’s) where you will hear about a tool, think about how it applies to virtual team-based care, try using it in a small group and then talk about your experience. From there you will hopefully feel ready to try it with your team(s)!

Colleen joined the Council in 2014. She has since led numerous initiatives including provincial Change Day and “What Matters to You?” campaigns as well as the development of ATTIC and our Teamwork & Communication Action Series. Before joining the Council, Colleen led improvement efforts across the continuum of care in Interior Health. Her passion and interests include accelerating change and transformation by leveraging large-scale change, social movement and network theories, non-technical skill training and design thinking.
Colleen holds a Master of Information Studies and a Master of Health Administration from the University of British Columbia. She has completed training in quality improvement, the collaborative breakthrough series methodology, design thinking, coaching and project management. She also holds Green and Black Belts in Lean Health Care from the Canadian Logistics Institute and is a fellow of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare.
In her spare time, you can find Colleen hiking, biking, spending time with her family (including two human and three fur babies) or fulfilling her desire of becoming a Red Seal pastry chef.
Maureen joined the Council in October 2019 in the role of Leader, Health System Improvement. Prior to this Maureen worked as an organizational development consultant at Island Health supporting leaders and their teams as they navigated the complex, constantly changing, rough waters of the health system. Maureen was also privileged to lead the Culture and Transformation portfolio for the North Island Hospital Transition in Comox and Campbell River. Through this Maureen led organizational change efforts as the St. Joseph’s Hospital affiliate physicians, staff and volunteer teams moved into to the new North Island Hospitals in the Comox Valley and Campbell River. This work has been a career highlight… so far.
Maureen is passionate about supporting individuals and teams as they stretch in their leadership capabilities and rise to address the challenges facing our health system today. Engagement, relationships, leadership, process consultation, learning and transformational change are all facets of Maureen’s work conducted through the lens of truly seeing dynamic and complex systems.
Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University, and she is an ICF-certified executive and team coach. She has held the position of Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University in the School of Leadership Studies (health and non-health streams) for the past eight years.
In her non-work time Maureen can be found skiing and mountain biking in the Comox Valley while attempting to keep up with her two very active teenagers, her husband and of course the wonder dog “Slalom.”
