Lakshman Swamy: Joy and Burnout on the Front Lines

Lakshman Swamy is an internal medicine resident at Boston Medical Center on the QI Pathway. He has worked extensively with the Institute for Health Care Improvement’s Open School, and created and directs Radio Rounds, a non-profit which features interviews with leaders in health care. During his plenary presentation at Quality Forum 2016, Lakshman talked about burnout in students and residents, and how quality improvement can stave it off and reinvigorate a sense of purpose.
