This one-day workshop gave participants the opportunity to learn about BC’s new focus on VTE prophylaxis, and showed them how they can lead their organization to excellence in this important health issue.
Topics covered included:
- Reviewing the evidence and sharing strategies and tools for VTE prophylaxis, one of the most common and preventable hospital complications
- Discovering resources to meet Accreditation Canada’s Required Organizational Practice (ROP) for VTE prevention
- Learning about BC’s Clinical Care Management initiative, and finding ways to achieve goals and meet targets
- Identifying potential barriers and strategizing solutions; learning from experts and local successes
