To help translate the priority of effective prevention and management of PAD into tangible ideas to improve the quality of care at local sites, the BCPSQC put together a driver diagram. A driver diagram is a visual and dynamic tool which can provide a framework to reduce (PAD) in critically ill patients. This driver diagram can be updated to meet the needs of local sites. It is important to note that this framework may conflict at times with other clinical management goals and should be modified where appropriate as part of a patient-centered care plan.
