Game On! Using Gamification for Improving Care

Date: December 17, 2015

Gamifi-what? It means using elements of games (like Monopoly, Angry Birds and Minecraft) and design in non-gaming contexts (like health care!). It’s rapidly spreading internationally as an exciting way to engage people in change.

The BC Sepsis Network used gamification in its 150 Lives in 150 Days campaign (here’s a great poster that explains how), which recently won the Gamification World Awards’ health category, and the Surgical Quality Action Network will be using it in its Race for Infection Prevention.

This edition of Quality Café will provide participants with an understanding of how motivational theory and game design can engage patients, families and those working within the health care system to improve care.

Join us to explore how gamification could be used in your own improvement initiatives!
