Steven Lewis – Finding the Beauty of Quality Health Care

Health Talks invited eight speakers — representing both health care and the public — to answer our question using the exciting Pecha Kucha presentation format: What are your hopes for health care?

Steven Lewis, president of Access Consulting Ltd., was the eighth speaker at Health Talks: Bold Ideas to Transform Health Care, where eight inspiring speakers, comprising a blend of health care providers and the public, shared their hopes for the health care system using the Pecha Kucha-powered 20 x 20 format (20 slides, 20 seconds each).

Steven is a health policy and research consultant based in Saskatoon and Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at Simon Fraser University. Prior to resuming a full-time consulting practice he headed a health research granting agency and spent 7 years as CEO of the Health Services Utilization and Research Commission in Saskatchewan.

Steven has served on various boards and committees, including the Governing Council of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Saskatchewan Health Quality Council, the Health Council of Canada, and the editorial boards of several journals, including Open Medicine. He writes frequently on improving quality, equity, and performance in health care, and is the moderator of M.A.S.H. blog — Meaningful Analogies in Sports and Health.

Health Talks was emceed by Gavin Stuart, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and Vice Provost, Health, at the University of British Columbia.
